Concession Trailer Hoods

Mobile concession kitchens can be a great business investment. Although mobile kitchens commonly offer a limited menu, they can be incredible money making machines. Overhead costs will be dramatically less than than those incurred in a full scale commercial kitchen. You will also be able to take your operation to your customer base. That is one of the greatest factors that make mobile kitchens such lucrative endeavors. However, you will need to know the right information before you begin. No matter what your mobile kitchen needs are you will be required to install a proper concession trailer vent hood if you plan on taking your operation out onto the road.

A unique part of designing mobile kitchens and concession trailer hoods is the very limited space allowed. Even the largest mobile kitchens are but a fraction of the size of a full scale restaurant. With this in mind, setting up all the equipment in a tight space can be a daunting task if you are not ready with the proper tools and the right knowledge. Our company specializes in commercial ventilation equipment and we have converted many existing trailers into beautiful, fully functional kitchens.

Have your menu planned out ahead of time to know what equipment you will need under the vent hood. Typical concession trailer hoods range from 4 to 6 feet in length. They are also built at a special height to allow the necessary working clearances while maintaining optimal ventilation. If you are a BBQ style kitchen then make sure you have all the required specs for your cooker. Retro fits are possible as long as all the information such as size, weight, clearances, and utilities are addressed during the trailer rough in.

Always make sure to meet all the health codes that are required to operate in your local jurisdiction before starting the kitchen. Mobile kitchens are still commercial operations and will require the proper health permits and certificates associated with any public eatery. Your local health inspector will provide you a run down of all the requirements. Also make sure you have paid any necessary fees to serve food publicly. Some cities like New York require additional vendor permits before you are able to sell food publicly.

Make sure to give Jean's Restaurant Supply a call when you're ready to convert your existing trailer into a powerful mobile kitchen. Getting the right consulting about the ventilation requirements and the proper equipment will prove to be very beneficial to your operation.
